Virgin Money Giving Mini London Wheelchair & Ambulant/Para Athlete Marathons

The Virgin Money Giving Mini London Wheelchair & Ambulant/Para Athlete Marathons are the opening events of the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon. The events are open to young people all over the UK in age category races: under 14 & under 17.

Boys and Girls – Under 14
Must be at least 11 years old on 23 April 2017
Born between 1 September 2002 and 23 April 2006

Boys and Girls – Under 17
Born between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2002

Event Criteria

Wheelchair Athletes

The entry criteria requires that all participants must be able to self-propel themselves over three miles within the time limit of 45 minutes. Competitors must wear a helmet and gloves and can either use a standard or racing chair. There will be opportunities for athletes to be fully classified before the race, which we would encourage you to do before you apply. Since the launch of the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Wheelchair Marathon in the early 1990's, past winners have included David Weir, Shelly Woods and Hannah Cockroft.

Ambulant/Para Athletes

The entry criteria requires participants to have a physical or sensory impairment. All participants must be able to run three miles within the time limit of 30 minutes. There will be opportunities for athletes to be fully classified before the race, which we would encourage you to do before applying.
